Thailand Children's Hospital

Thailand Children's Hospital

Thailand Children's Hospital is the only government hospital that provides tertiary to super - tertiary care for children from birth to 15 years old. There are approximately 350,000 outpatients (OPD) and 30,000 inpatients (IPD) each year. Most of our patients are facing complex diseases which require advanced treatment, contributing to relatively higher associated costs.

“Little Miracle” is our fundraising campaign that offers support to children in need of optimal healthcare and treatment, enabling their return to their loved ones in improved health conditions.

The primary goal of this campaign is to enhance the hospital’s capabilities, particularly in the intensive care unit (ICU), by expanding the number of beds and acquiring advanced medical equipment to assure that all critically ill children receive the indispensable treatment they need.

Birth Defects Situation in Thailand

In Thailand, there are 250,000 newborn infants per year, and 24,000 – 40,000 of them are diagnosed with congenital anomalies. A congenital anomaly or birth defect is a national concern, for it affects not only the mental well-being of parents or legal guardians, but the impact goes beyond individual families and society. Birth defects are a leading cause of infant deaths, accounting for 20% – 30% of all infant deaths, which is statistically higher than congenital heart disease, chromosome abnormalities, limb anomalies, cleft lip/palate, and neurological disorders.

Infants with birth defects require specialized care and are monitored in a controlled and safe environment called an “infant incubator." An infant incubator acts as a protective environment that contributes significantly to the well-being of affected infants. Since premature infants often suffer from serious complications such as respiratory distress syndrome (breathing disorder), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, gastrointestinal disorders, sepsis, vision and hearing problems, including developmental disorders, and low birth weight, In critical cases, urgent operations become necessary to safeguard their lives.

An infant incubator serves as an indispensable tool in the treatment of premature infants by providing thermal support, maintaining thermal stability (preventing hypothermia), and helping premature babies survive outside the womb.

Just a little help from you,
Miracle happens

Be our “Little Miracle”

Children in critical conditions are unable to breathe on their own, experiencing high risks of multiple organ failure (brain, heart, lung, liver, and kidney), sepsis, critical complications, or an unexpected incident after surgery. Thus, special medical equipment is required to save the lives of these children.

  • ICU beds
  • Ventilator
  • Vital sign monitor
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG) monitor
  • Central Monitor
  • Other specialized medical equipment
