เรามีแรงบันดาลใจคือ "คุณตา" ผู้สอนให้พวกเรารู้จักคำว่า การมีนำ้ใจ การให้ และ การทำเพื่อผู้อื่น แต่เมื่อ 4 ปีที่ผ่านมาคุณตาก็ทำให้เราก็เริ่มรู้จักกับโรคร้าย ที่เรียกว่า “มะเร็ง” 

จากติดตามการรักษาของคุณตา เราได้เรียนรู้ว่าเทคโนโลยีการรักษาโรคนี้ได้เดินทางมาไกล และพัฒนาอย่างรวดเร็วได้ด้วยจากงานวิจัยจากห้องทดลองทั่วโลก

ไม่นานมานี้ เราได้เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับ "การบำบัดด้วยเซลล์ CAR-T" ซึ่งได้การยอมรับในระดับสากลว่า เป็นความก้าวหน้าครั้งสำคัญ ที่พลิกโฉมหน้าประวัติศาสตร์การแพทย์ของโลก โดยมีอัตราการตอบสนองต่อการรักษา จนโรคสงบสมบูรณ์ (complete remission)  อยู่ที่ 50% ไปจนถึงมากกว่า 80 %

ปีนี้โรงพยาบาลเด็กมีโครงการระดมทุนเพื่อจัดหาอุปกรณ์ทางการแพทย์ขั้นสูง และ นำเทคโนโลยีมหัศจรรย์นี้มาสู่เด็กไทยที่ขาดแคลนทุนทรัพย์เพื่อสามารถเข้าถึงการรักษาที่สามารถช่วยชีวิตพวกเขา

Our grandfather, "Khun Ta," has always been our inspiration. He has taught us so much about kindness, generosity, and paying it forward.

Four years ago, through Khun Ta, we also learned about a serious illness called "cancer". As we watch him go through treatment after treatment, we have seen how much cancer care has improved, thanks to researchers in laboratories around the world who never stop looking for better answers.

Recently, we learned about CAR-T Cell Therapy, an exciting breakthrough recognized worldwide as a turning point in modern medicine. It has helped achieve complete remission in roughly 50% to over 80% of patients.

This year, the Children's Hospital has launched a fundraising campaign to acquire the advanced medical equipment needed to bring this treatment to children and families in Thailand who might not otherwise be able to afford it.
